How to Dial in Your Amp for Worship Guitar
Today, I'm going to break down how I dial in an amp for Worship Guitar. Dialing in an amp can be daunting, so I'm going to simplify the process of how I get a rounded, chimey, edge of breakup sound. That way, whether you are using your amp at home, an amp at church, or backline gear at a gig, you'll have a process to get it sounding like you in no time. And while the tone we are dialing in today is meant for modern Worship, and ambient styles of playing, this process can be applied to just about any amp, modeler, and genre.
There are so many layers to guitar tone, but I think getting the amp right is arguably the most important step. The amp is the foundation of our tone, so it's critical ...

What the heck does "Filling Space" mean in Worship Guitar?

Today we are unpacking a Worship Guitar phrase that you've probably heard before: "Filling Space." Filling Space is such a weird phrase to me, especially within context of worship music. It almost seems like nonsense. Fill space, but place less? Kind of weird. Today we'll be breaking down what people mean by filling space and how to effectively do so in worship. I've broken it down into 3 level...

@@JustinMuncy But i refered to the amp sound when you tweeked it, LoL. The only problem with amps is that they are fooking loud for a good tone. BUt I use a trick to play like an amp with my tonemaster pro or Boss GT1000.....I use an Orange power amp so that i connect say the boss gt1000 to it and the power amp to a real cabinet. That makes a great change for better....You see, the thing is the air being moved by the cabinet speaker....AUdio speakers will always give you that finicky shitty sound. Try a power amp with your cortex and a real cabinet. You ll be surprised. :)

@@gibson2623 Yeah, but I had the master volume off! So I was in fact listening to it through speakers, and it sounds fantastic! Haha! The volume battle is real, but you’ve heard me say it before, I don’t buy into the “pushing air” thing. I’ve pretty much always played on IEMs and have in most cases, had the amp either off stage or facing away from me. That doesn’t make an Earth shattering difference to me. I think there’s a dynamic difference between playing on an amp vs a modeler. I notice that more.

Try putting the doubler after the end of all the mono blocks as putting it first in the chain you won’t get the intended separation and it won’t sound as phasey. Keep in mind as soon as you hit the amp block, it takes everything before it and sums it to mono so anything stereo before the amp you won’t benefit from it being stereo. Hope that makes sense! That tweaking And perfecting process is not specific to the quad cortex by the way. That's anyone chasing "their tone" on a modeler. The biggest feedback specific to the quad cortex in this area, Is it failure to have great tones out of the box. Other modelers have better presets out of the box but still require tweaking to get perfected.
